terms.
last revised: 2026
This site is operated by Solyx, an independent studio based in Victoria & Salt Spring, Canada. By browsing or buying here, you agree to these terms. They are written plainly. If anything reads ambiguously, write to hello@solyx.art and we will clarify.
The shop
Every piece in the shop is one-of-a-kind, made by hand in the studio. Listings show accurate photographs and measurements. Slight variations between the photograph and the piece you receive (minor colour shift in different light, minor unevenness in handmade stitchwork) are not defects — they are the register of the work.
Prices are in Canadian dollars unless explicitly noted. Taxes are calculated at checkout based on shipping destination. Stock is updated in real time; if a piece sells while it is in your cart, the cart will tell you at checkout.
Photography and writing
All photography, writing, and visual identity on this site is the property of the Solyx studio. You may save personal screenshots for inspiration; please do not republish, resell, or use the imagery commercially without written permission. Press and editorial requests welcome — hello@solyx.art.
Commissions
A commission is a contract between you and the studio for a piece made to your brief. Once a deposit is paid, the brief is locked. Significant changes to the brief mid-make require a new agreement. Commissions are final sale (see the Returns page).
Liability
The studio is not responsible for misuse of a piece (machine washing a hand-wash piece, storing damp wool, etc. — see the Care page). The studio is responsible for its own work — defects, wrong pieces sent — and addresses those quickly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct correspondence is heard in the courts of BC.
